@Shakur well to be fair similar things HAVE happened in real life history, you look at major regressions in civilizations, for example some of the stuff that happened with korea when china got invaded, government policies and stuff can cause scary things to happen

@Shakur I don't know if you understand how war works, but take a very good look at the technological advancement before, during, and following the world wars. Take a very good look at the levels of advancement, movement of material, national unity during war, and how after everybody kinda got lazy in less than a 40 year span of time. 200 years for a nation's talent and reputation to completely dissipate is completely believable.

@banjomarx sure they can do things to go bad, but losing all knowledge on something being used by almost every citizen on a daily routine is odd at least, If this was about complicated spells or spells used only by really good magicians I could understand that for It being too hard It got lost, but basic magic that anyone can use being lost to that point looks really odd for me.
@etherealwing sure during the period of the great wars and after we got big advancements in science and technology, but my point is not about the advancement, but about losing all knowledge, like if we could do something in the XVIII century and now we can't make It at all ir can only make It really bad.

That's what happened, how do you think we went from muskets and bartering to lawsuits and online shopping? Just compare the US of present day to US of 1819, 200 years today. Take a good long look, and tell me we haven't forgotten basically everything we knew then and traded for a more convenient system of doing things? This isn't just the US either, but the US did it the fastest, going from 0->superpower in two centuries. But current age, after the wars were all said and done, a lot of people look at US as lazy, and they would be correct comparing to old standards, but we have improved technologies, longer lifespans, it's honestly rare that people are starving even if they are homeless. Processes change. You could also consider it(going back to manga) a conspiracy to discourage future evil. Everyone "de-escalating" their fighting prowess to prevent war amongst humans since the demons were no longer an issue. The bottom line is, a culture can change in less than 20 years, it's laughable to think 200 couldn't change it. @Shakur OH, and the dark ages would be good example, loads of lost info because of text->text replication, printing books wasn't a process for a long while, and based on the look of their technology, it would make sense for them to cut corners a lot.

Eliza's ancestor apparently didn't leave behind a similar letter.

@Kaarme Well, I'd assume something happened since she states that she wants to rebuild "the house that raised her" meaning that she could possibly be the only remaining "direct" descendant of the Hero of Fire... Or maybe something along those lines? Like a branch family took over after her folks were killed/died and they kicked her out of the family, then another "not famous anymore" family picked her up and took care of her... Which would be kind of funny if that family was another descendant of another hero all together.

hmmm, pretty sure it would've been better for the story if Roy's tale was more that the 4 of them held back & defeated the DKs bodyguards while their 5th, Abel, was able to take on and defeat the Demon King (or something to that effect). That recap sounds more like they sat there and watched Abel, which would be pretty lame setup of the author. No reason to make the 4 that are specialists (because of their innate talents, shown by eye color) window dressing for the generalist (genius though he may be).

I am so happy they didn't go with that cringe-ridden route where some kind of weird technicality makes the OP MC lose, putting him under the boot of some haughty retards for most of the story.
I fucking hate that troupe.

I guess he probably thinks Abel is either a descendent and they are a secret family or that "Abel" isn't a real person and just a figure that shows up in history. (I don't exactly know if an "apostle" is possible to exist in this world but that would probably be what he is thinking.)

When I said if one could "exist" but I just mean like in a religious sense if they think one could come down not if one actually could exist.

Lol Roy. You 'asked' him to screw off... then in that letter, you never confessed that you're the one who said that to Abel so he could disappear. Sinful.

Your grandfather asked him to quit though... But it was indeed necessary since Abel was too OP for demon subjugation. But then again, the rest of the heroes didn't even protect Abel's history and no one knows but them.. That's kind of sad and hypocritical. Even if they left a letter, it wasn't able to do anything. They didn't hide the truth, yes. But they didn't do anything for it.
