It's still bullshit how they have magic academies and magic researchers and yet they somehow lost 90% of knowledge and magic talents in 200 years.
Even magic tools development shouldn't make this much of an impact.
She feels like a shy genius lil sister of Abel tbh and so I don't really want her to be involved as a harem candidate... Her demeanour and her interests in Abel are very much about magic research and "finally found someone who gets me mentally and intelligently" that the their chemistry feels more organic as siblings and more forced if it's gotta be romantic...
Kuudere are the best. Tsundere have suffered so much from the modern, violent and malicious form of tsundere, but kuudere remains true to its roots to this day.
@BananowyJE: Not that hard to do when the people in charge literally are trying to slowly kill it off.
They just need to slowly change the 'common sense' of magic using some plausible reasoning (like how Abel thought Amber eyes became misunderstood because in time of peace there's no need to train THAT hard)
Amber eyes being the 'weak' one instead of the 'train hard to be OP'
Slowly reduce the training required, then once they're sufficiently weak enough introduces the magic tools as replacement to curb the desire to grow any further.
Especially when much of the ancient, and likely explaining how to properly do magic, books were lost due to the anti magic group.
To use an example from another series (though this one is more accidental than intentional)
In Bookworm, the old, divine mandated way of succeeding the 'king' position is through selection among candidates who have passed the tests from the Gods and were given a magic tool that essentially run 'countrymanagement.exe' (also act as magical google)
Then one queen wanted her incompetent son to succeed her, and made a lesser version of said magic tool, which still have the countrymanagement.exe so the son can still run the country fine.
Then the son passed it on to his children, and repeat.
Eventually nobody go through the trials because passing down the tool was considered to be the expected way and you might be seen as trying to usurp the throne for getting one yourself.
The religion declined, but because worshipping the Gods is how you get their blessings people get less blessings over time and thus are weaker in overall magic power. (another thing Myne accidentally get plenty of due to her time in the temple and her high magic power offerings)
But then when the tool was lost in a coup, shit hit the fan because at this point everyone is so used to 'handing down the tool' being the tradition that nobody in the country is aware of the old and true method of doing it.
In fact when Myne accidentally start herself on that path (she just want to get into the secret library supposedly only royals can get into...) they accused her of trying to usurp the throne (though partly due to her teacher's hidden royal lineage and they think he's using her to get it)
