My guess is that they haven't invented gasoline engine so the only way to make things move is by using magic stones. And if the magic stones are expensive then non-merchant commoners and poor lower nobles would rather use horse carriages than go bankrupt from paying for their ride's fuel.

That doesn't make sense though, moving construction materials would have also made building skyscrapers prohibitively expensive if everything is moved via magical stones. If the nobility, i.e., the ruling class doesn't have enough money to finance these ventures, who does? The wealthy merchants? In that case, why do the wealthy merchants not have cars?

Also no one is claiming this series is good but how the fuck did the author manage to kill it so efficiently. I am far more interested now in the story of how the genius author managed to bring together so many destructive elements in so few pages. Japan, yazuka, a modern city after the first 40 chapters of a magic medieval world? I am so convinced this HAS to be intentional, maybe he got sick of it but the contract forced him to continue releasing chapters?

Someone needs to make sure the author isn't being held at gunpoint and forced to make this, this could be an SOS 🤔

You know, she was fine flexing on those guys in the beginning of the chapter with a threat burning them alive. However when it comes to the yakuza dudes why is she even bothering to hesitate using the same threat? Or you know, actually burning them to death? I know the author is trying to build suspense, but he already ruined it with the first page as he is making the char contradict herself.

Seriously, this chapter seems completely out of place.
A set of "japanese" clothes out of nowhere, in a world that is not an isekai, so there is no hint that "Japan" is a thing to begin with. (Then again, this could be a problem with the translation team. I'm curious what the raws say about it.)
Then stereotypical yakuzas (both in style and attitude) in a place that is definitely not Japan.
All of this to setup a completely cliche scene of yakuzas threatening young women into night services.
This is so bad. If the author wants yakuzas and yukata, please either draw this in another manga, or at least set this properly in your world setting. Just mention some "eastern country" isn't enough, particularly since there is no obvious reason these small-time gangsters would have made the trip all the way from there.

I hope this gets brushed off quickly and we can go back to the story.

(Also, kudos to @Zeroisloco for spotting the 6 fingers there. That one is hilarious when you see it.)
