What I don't understand is that despite all his planning he didn't prepare any ppe for his face. Seeing as the infection is transmitted through liquids one drop in his eyes or mouth and it's over not to mention he's been mainly using edged weapons which tend to bring out more blood than blunt ones.

And yeah, it's pretty stupid to expend his stamina making ineffective strikes like that, i get that the author want to make the MC looks badass and show us what he's capable of but so far the author has depicted the MC as cold, calculating, and effective so him doing the slashing thing is questionable to say the least
