Wait the maths doesn't make any sense, wouldn't you need to add 40ml of water?

200ml*90% = 180ml of alcohol and 20ml of solvent.

x*75% = 180ml, where x is the total volume of alcohol and solvent needed,
x = 180/75%
x = 240ml total volume

So 40ml of water will bring the solution to 75% alcoholic percentage.

Oh I see what the translator did wrong, they did:
x + 10% (100) = 25% (x+100)
Which is the same question but for 100ml of total solution, they should've done:
x + 10% (200) = 25% (x+200)
Which would've been for 200ml of total solution.

Exactly. Followed the same steps, got the same answers. It's much easier that way if you're doing it in your mind, but I see the appeal to do it as a linear equation if you're solving on paper.

It seems other commenter found the mistake, though. It's probably supposed to be 100ml, then it's 90ml of alcohol and 20 more ml of water needed to make it into 75% solution. It would also be much easier for readers to calculate (you can basically drop a few zeros and it turns into 1+9=10, 9+X=(9/3)*4, which is easy to solve on the spot.
