This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes "History isn't a single narrative, but thousands of alternative narratives. Whenever we choose to tell one, we are also choosing to silence others. Human." It means that your own story isn't the only one and that other's stories matter just as much. In literature it can be easy to forget that the side characters in stories should also have lives outside the plot. So when authors make their characters question how to value their own stories vs. other's stories I enjoy the book a lot more.

... Im ok with this. Hugo turned out like he did cause of all the rage he had for losing the treasures in his life. He was blinded by it.

Now he has the happiness that he needs to break from that path.

I think this is better then Revenge. Why let the same events of the past happen as they did? Change the people around you, use your knowledge to better the future.

I like this route better then straight revenge.

The Happy Grandpa angle will be nice.

My working theory for a while was that the Hugo from the future was someone else who replaced him, and now knowing Set has been replaced by a demon I bet the same thing happens to Hugo
I concur with this theory, I can't see this Hugo doing what he did in MC's first life. Demonic possesion seems to be the best explanation

Goodness me this story just keeps peaking. The author doesn't let Bichir be complacent content in his revenge, it's indeed a sumptuous tragedy as I predicted.

Ikr, I'm as much of a proponent for revenge as the next guy, but this is just so bittersweet, it's delicious man 😩 this author keeps exceeding my low expectations with the worldbuilding, characters (tho the girls fell for Bichir too quickly IMO) and now this

Rage and anger is a powerful thing but the fact that hugo is gaining love and family again might change alot. The mc can spell his name right now removed basically most obsessions from hugo obsession of a strong heir or the reason for the mass breeding by becoming the powerhouse the pursuit of power from the 10 fangs, and with this hugo now has a grand daughter to dote on and distract him from revenge on the shaman tribe so he doesn't get lost in that. He fixed his dad by way of his revenge plot.

My theory is that, as he has regressed and changed the scenario, everyone is essentially a different person. Its like he jumped into a parallel dimension.

What makes you you, is your personality and the events that happen in your life.

He already noticed certain things from the previous timeline changing. How is this a surprise? Abe Lincoln sneezes and Booth misses the shot. The future changes. JFK doesn't wave but pulls Jackie close in a hug causing her to take the shot. Future changed. Visionaries and inventors aren't "mysteriously" killed or disappear because of political or religious reasons. We have (possibly) flying cars and vehicles don't run on oil products. The point is: He's already changed everything with his knowledge and notices irregularities. How is this a surprise? He's positively affecting those around him for a devious plot. Did he not think it would backfire? He only has himself to blame. Or does he realize this and change his target or the end result? I'm hooked.

I hope we're not expected to forgive him, given what he did to all his other descendants.

In an effort to destroy the whole lineage. He purposely unintentionally united a family.
