No, absolutely not. Considering how the author is going for the most surface level example of "People are shitty, especially on the internet" it's not surprising they did. The little sister has ALREADY been reduced to a plot device meant to justify the MC being an asshole to people who "deserve it" but still have everyone feel bad for him.

The guy has a ski mask on his face and was hired by the mentor who the girl was protecting? Somehow ski mask will be the strongest awakened or son of the strongest awakened (even though he needs a mid level kid to completely run out of mana before he can fight) so he isn't immediately found when he questions the mentor and can hold his own
