In Japan they call that a "Freeter", a person who has no permanent job but moves from part-time job to part-time job. We already know she's part-timing at a convenience store, so she's no NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), just a messy girl.

They have their first proper talk, and I think her parents' divorce might be part of how she ended up like this. She was that sweet girl who loved her parents.

If that's what the original translation said, then that's cute as all hell!
