Maybe I'm giving the series too much story-leeway, but I want to believe that exaggerated fall after a single strike in the first 5 seconds "don't blink" is a farce by the Korean boxer who just wants to put on a show and get attention.

Then again, the contrast between

• Complete amateur lovable protagonist vs. World Champion spiteful villain = WIN
• Previous fight was World Champion loved friend vs complete amateur prodigy = LOSS
• Comical misleading of "curses" and "hexes" and "bad omens" followed up with "miracle OHKO"

...probably fits the easier tone for the story. Which is fun, too.

Anyway, I'm having fun reading this. Thanks to the scanlators; this reads well and looks great!

If anybody thinks this is a bit of a stretch, check out any one of the boxing hype jobs comp vids on Youtube. Tons of big smack talkers who got puffed up and turned out to have a glass jaw as soon as they faced a real fighter and not tomato cans.
