every goddamn hentai game ("visual novel") used to have a manga adaption - more successful ones even an anime adaption. there's also prominent examples of hentai doujinshi getting a commercial all-ages version - the most well-known by far is probably ane naru mono.

I happened to re-read from chapter 1, because not even going back to chapter 5 made things click in my brain about what this series even was...

And from page 27 of that chapter:

I imagine that we will, or something similar. Kou said at the start of the relationship (in the chapter 1 flashback) that she was the one who chose Seiji, but also that her reason "is still a secret."

never heard of that one, but at least the anime adaption is relatively new. the ones i had in mind - like majikoi - are much older.
