An obvious joke about this manga being something more than just yuri BDSM metaphorsI actually quite liked this one. Coming off the high of the concert's success, there's that afterglow in the wake of all the tension being released and you just sorta glide through the following days to get back into the rhythm of it all.
And this little segue into Lilisa realizing a dream of her younger self -- that is, actually going out with a group of friends that share her hobbies and tastes -- felt like a brilliant bit of "aftercare", as it were, to finish off the energetic arc preceding it.
Plus, Shiraya & Lilisa secretly being so in-sync (and quite upset about it) with both Oto and with Tina was a nice little development. Them being so at odds, only to be more on the same wavelength than anyone had anticipated, adds a nice little extra component of nuance and texture to their group, making sure that even if they continue to bounce off one another, they clearly have something much stronger that holds them together, beyond simply being attached to Oto.
Even if it wasn't specifically about playing music, this feels like a great chapter for fleshing out the characters and their bonds, and having them grow closer together in ways that involve more than just instruments or pent-up lesbian BDSM undertones.
Thanks for the TL.
honestly "Yuri BDSM with musical instruments" is how I'd describe this going forward. An obvious joke about this manga being something more than just yuri BDSM metaphors.
I always like these casual slice of life chapters after an arc. Iruma does this to check on the other students and it's always good.It feels like either the author didn't know what the chapter would be about, or it was written by three different people, lmao. But I still like the casual vibe this time.
Well, I'd be lying if I said people aren't really exaggerating that part of the manga, lmao. But I'm okay with it as long as people realize it.honestly "Yuri BDSM with musical instruments" is how I'd describe this going forward.
And it's not even inaccurate, if maybe a smidge misleading (but that's what gets people in the door, so).
And if you then look at Shiraya and Lilisa, it seems clear that Otoha "has a type", as it were.I know the jokes are about Tina's titanic titties, but, damn, Otoha is massive too. Just look at page 8.
I don't think one "nakayoshi da na" scene means she thinks they're completely the same, let alone suddenly develop any interest in Shiraya. Rather, you could say that Otoha attracts a certain type of people, regardless of what you put in "attracts."And if you then look at Shiraya and Lilisa, it seems clear that Otoha "has a type", as it were.
What I was mostly getting at was in response to their "sure Tina's got a huge rack but Otoha's no slouch", and then contrasting that against Shiraya & Lilisa both having "comparatively little" going on in the breast department - but because Shiraya is clearly "attached" to Otoha, and Lilisa is in a similar-ish boat in terms of being closer to Otoha than to the other two, and Otoha delighting in them both--Otoha "has a type".I don't think one "nakayoshi da na" scene means she thinks they're completely the same, let alone suddenly develop any interest in Shiraya. I didn't mean to imply any romantic aspect; you can interpret it however you want. I just wanted to say that the Shiraya x Otoha dynamic, unlike Lilisa x Otoha, was clearly not initiated by Otoha herselfs, so this is more of an author's gag than the character's own initiative. Regardless of how you read it, I think Otoha is more interested in the fact that both are impulsive and willing to engageWhat I was mostly getting at was in response to their "sure Tina's got a huge rack but Otoha's no slouch", and then contrasting that against Shiraya & Lilisa both having "comparatively little" going on in the breast department - but because Shiraya is clearly "attached" to Otoha, and Lilisa is in a similar-ish boat in terms of being closer to Otoha than to the other two, and Otoha delighting in them both--Otoha "has a type".
I don't mean that she's attracted to them, though - or that any sort of overt romantic aspects will come into play for this series. Just riffing off the the idea that physical-characteristics-wise, Otoha's got two girls who are part of the band and connected to her that are strikingly similar (and that plays out even more so in this chapter when we see that, despite their slight animosity toward one another, they really are alike).
