@lunectar There's a phrase probably originally from the Christian bible about the "scales falling from somebody's eyes," which is a reference to recovering from a certain type of blindness, and is used as a metaphor for realizing something clearly that you couldn't realize before. Rakka was "blind" to the fact that she could just stop playing the game any time she wanted, until the "scales fell from her eyes".
