Yeah, but according to the MC's exposition dump, the Holy magic she uses is unique, so there's no way they recognized the spell. She had to tell them what spell it was, and they jumped to conclusions anyway.
I must have misread then, as the plot I remembered being mentioned earlier pegged her as a holy magic user where her magic had been recognized as heretical evil magic. Not some type of unique magic.

Yeah, this is one of those shit games, where only the Hero's Holy magic can hurt the Demon Lord.

After this chapter, Ash finds out Elise is a reincarnator. Ash told Fine to issue a dual to clear her name. The fight is a 2 vs 4 against Elise's Harems. Ash trained Fine by lending a sword that gives extra exp points. During the dual, the harems were defeated easily with the help of Fine's buff abilities.

At the end of the fight, the prince used a holy sword that was holy woman that defeated the demon lord(yes that person transformed into a sword.) Ash went into rage mode because he didn't like how the the holy sword was being disrespected. With Fine's help buffing Ash's defense to the max, he grab the holy sword in one hand and punching the Prince with the other hand. The fight became so bloody that Fine had to stop the fight. Ash and Fine won at the end but since Elise and harem wasnt suppose to know about the sword, they were imprisoned by the Crown Prince Elzes (Elses).

Because Elise knows the Holy Sword that only certain royals know. She gets tortured and mind broken for information by breaking her bones and healing her. Eventually Elise and harem escaped with a help of another group.

The sword returned to the Royal family. Because of retrieving the holy sword, Ash was reward a title Viscount and Fine was reward with a medal. Fine's was treated better at school with her bullies begging for forgiveness in order to regain family honor. Fine didn't forgive them and told them to leave. Ash became the most feared in the school as he defeated all the main capture targets. Fine became a live-in maid for Ash's mansion.

Fine wasn't also given a noble title, but at least she got her happy Cinderella ending with Ash. And good on her for not forgiving those trash. You already know the only reason they're asking for forgiveness is because they're forced to by their families.

Did Elise reveal the entire game when she was tortured? I read a spoiler that there are several reincarnators that keep trying to mess with Ash and Fine. I assume one of them was responsible for breaking Elise and trash harem free.

Was the prince actually imprisoned as well? Was he disowned?

Fine was a commoner with no noble ties so she gets the medal. If I remember correctly, Ash will inherit the Viscount title from another family called Weiss as its a dwindling family. I read only Vol.1 and Elise only says "I have Else's memories" to the harem after being mindbroken so she may revealed something to the crown price.

There is a suspected reincarnator that showed up after the dual by the name Sarasa Enforcer because she scored high the exam. The student ranking in the exam is:
1. Ash
2. Fine
3. Sarasa Enforcer
4. Ian (Ash's friend you see at chapter 1. Ash's trained him after the dual)

Honestly Sarasa a messy loli with a magic obsession that would forfeit anything physical so cant say what she is yet.

I dont think the prince was disowned yet. The Prince and the harem were confined to a room with servants and guards. The Prince didn't learn anything and is obsessed with Elise. He wants revenge against Ash, Fine, and the Crown Prince because of what about happen to Elise. Those servants and guards were actually spies from another group where they say they sympathize the prince and Elise. However during this time was a ceremony for the high score examinees. The ceremony was attack by a cult where Ash, Sarasa, and Fine team up. Ash struggled in this fight as the cult leader used summon magic. The summoned monster killed the cult leader and could've of killed Ash but saved by Fine with her holy rain magic that healed Ash and scorch the monster. I assume the harem escaped during the attack.

The biggest mystery to me is Prince Elses as he always have a poker face and denies meeting Fine before the exam. In the game Prince Elses is an optional boss but the developers did not put any backstory for Elses at all. So Its just an optional boss fight with no dialogue. I will start reading vol. 2 this week.

Fine is also a saint with special holy powers, that only she can use - that's also attending the upper nobility classes. It's odd, but most of the nobility in the school seem retarded in the first place.

Why does Elise want to ruin Fine in the first place? Is Elise just your typical isekai sociopath that's only thinking about getting the best ending? And what happened with Prince Alberich? Does he realize how stupid he was? Or does he remain an idiot until the end? I imagine he has a grudge against Ash for nearly beating him to death.

I edited by post above about the Prince just now. Elise is a selfish person that wanted a reverse harem ending as soon as possible and she threw Fine under the bus for it. She doesnt seem to realise Ash is a reincarnator. Ash found out Elise is is reincarnator by playing dumb when talking to her at a cafe. Ash mention her love for the Prince is like Cinderella or Kagura which is term that doesnt exist in the game world and Elise is familiar with it.

Why do people sympathize with the prince? He seems like an idiot that cruelly attacked and harassed an innocent girl. Are they just people that want to use him as their puppet?

You mentioned Elise had her mind broken by the torture. Is she now crazy, or is she basically just gone? Also, are people trying to steal Fine for themselves, now that everyone know who she really is?

There isnt much about the spies afterwards but they called themselves the "Rüven Vaschia Alliance Army" and took Elise and the harem. Elise became a lifeless doll. During the Ceremony, the Crown Prince force harem to fulfill their promise from losing the dual which is to apologize to Fine. The harem did not want to apologize but Elise stepped in to apologize. Her apology was flat and emotionless with a scent of potion (must be because of the torture. The harem than reluctantly apologize and the Prince said to Ash that he will expose Ash's evil deeds.

From how I see it, the holy magic is seen as just a label. It's like how any organisation can label something as illegal or dangerous based on subjective standard. For example, a country can list opium as a medicine, while another country puts it as illegal narcotics. Another example can be Diomedes's famous "Behold, a man!" where he held a naked chicken instead.

Basically while Fine's magic is labeled Holy Magic, Elise has gaslighted everyone into thinking that the so-called "Holy Magic" is evil regardless of the label. Similarly "Defense Protection" too is also seen as a curse instead of a buff even with the existing label. An example of this scenario would be in Grand Blue where PAB call spirytus "water" or vodka and whiskey as "oolong tea". Just because X is labeled as X, doesn't mean people will think that it's truly X.

As for the mental retardation of the Four Knights (the others' retardation can be chalked to gaslighting like I mentioned above), Fine mentioned that Elise has been dosing them with high amount of potion. Now this is just my personal take, but it's possible potion overdose behaves similarly to narcotics in this setting, and I think we all know how junkies behave. By making the Four Knights into crackheads wrapped around her finger, Elise pretty much controls their very brains.

Anyway, that's my explanation. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

It sounds like both of the princes have a bad relationship with each other. Is it a one-sided thing, with the spare resenting his older brother for being wiser and better than him?

You mentioned that everyone started treating Fine better after the duel. Do they actually start being nice to her, or they just stop bullying her? Does Ash getting all the attention give Fine rivals for Ash's attention?

Your explanation about the holy magic just being a label would make a lot of sense, if it weren't for the fact that the crown prince (and by extension the kingdom) went out of their way to recognize Fine as a holy magic user and to her a school for aristocrats. By openly bullying Fine as someone evil, they are essentially declaring the royal family was stupidly blind and incompetent in sending Fine there in the first place. I know I called them retarded earlier, but are they really that retarded that they would disgrace the royal family so openly?

Your theory about the potions having narcotic effects would actually be something unique and refreshing. In too many stories I've seen, potions are treated the same as candy. Nearly all isekai stories just ignore all those details for exciting things like battles and a tsundere beating the shit out of the dense MC. Like, wouldn't taking too much healing potions in a short amount of time cause side affects, like cancer and other serious things?

Looking at the chapter again, it's not mentioned that the fact Elses is Fine's sponsor is known by public.
In fact based on the spoilers, Elses actually hides his involvement with Fine before she entered the school, to the point he says he has never met her before. We know that she healed him, as well as Ash, but for some reason Elses is playing dumb in public.

Based on this current circumstancial fact, Fine enrolls to the school by the patronage from the royal family due to her being a "Holy Magic" user, but under no explicit individual sponsor. From the perspective of the noble kids, they very much can argue that Fine is duping the royal family, and as such it's their duty and responsibility to the kingdom to 'show' the royal family their mistakes. We saw this multiple times in history, royals being patron of shady people causing the people to go full mob justice. Examples being the various Chinese emperors and their favorite eunuchs of the day, Romanovs and Rasputin, the French royal family and Cagliostro. Just because the royal family is the patron of someone, doesn't mean that someone is untouchable, or that the royal family is absolute, that's not how feudal contract works. If the royal family is perceived as breaking the feudal contract, the nobles do have the rights and prerogative to revolt and demand justice. Case in point, John Lackland having his ass handed to him for refusing to sign Magna Carta.

I think its only that mention of those group of bullies that Fine told to leave and that's it. Ash's mention Fine's school life should be better since she can stand up to herself now. There isnt much info about love rivals. Sarasa did forcedly talk Ash and asking him about how he learned his magic. This cause Fine to butt in and told her to ask him later because they were in a middle of an exam.

I guess you're right about the crown prince keeping himself hidden about this. And I do see your point. But in this case, a holy magic user would be really easy to prove. Just have the person do holy magic in front of officials that actually know what holy magic does. It would be like someone proving they could shoot fireballs. All they would have to do is simply shoot a fireball in front of people for it to be true.

Wasn't Fine in a completely different group from Ash? I remember it mentioned in the first chapter that lower nobles went to different classes than upper nobles. So how could Fine butt in when she shouldn't be there in the first place?

That's the exam. The exam are several tests that focus on swordmanship, magic, books, etc. The students are randomly numbered during that time and take the test when called. Some of those test have Fine and Ash together in the same group. I dont know about Sarasa but I think that's because they are in the same group and she also doesnt care and does what she wants. Ash and Fine generally only meet before and after school and its to keep themselves from being expose to the other students. Only Ian knows they live together.

From the first chapter, it seems like Ash's mansion is still in the city. I would've thought someone would've noticed two people wearing school uniforms going in and out of the same house each day, but I guess not. And even if they hide, aren't they still pretty famous?

Anyway, thanks for the spoilers! Hope the manga is as good as the LN. Those pictures of Fine really were works of art :hearts:
