There would definitely be complaints if two of the top scorers are from the same family, one of them scored higher than royalty, and the mother did some backdoor dealings to be a teacher.
Doesn't a scholarship mean the school tuition is paid for? If so then why are they working to pay it?
Tuition can be have many forms. Waiving the tuition itself is one thing, but there's still living expenses, where to live, and research expenses. It's not like they'll provide an unlimited budget, so earning money isn't impossible.
Moreover, what they're talking about here is scholarship obligations, which can be stipulated in the original scholarship.
