You really can't blame the police or army for doing their job. Most of them probably don't even the story behind this, and only know they have to protect people from a murderer.

That's true.

However, would the people on top rely on that kind of person to actually protect them?
Ideally to them, corrupt & highly skilled people would be the best guards, corrupt as in they'll ... overlook any laws they don't care about.
