? My thought was that Dobu wanted the extra bullet to kill Tanaka or Odokawa after getting gun back.
Sort of weird to want the extra bullet for Tanaka because it means Dobu would have to get his gun back THEN hold Tanaka hostage while he goes to get the bullet (unless Dobu planned to keep the spare bullet with him) instead of killing Tanaka in some other fashion.
The bullet could otherwise be for killing Odokawa to tie up loose ends when Dobu is done using him or Dobu simply wanted the spare bullet for something else he was up to.
This is all on the assumption (seemingly true based on the events of the anime) assumption that Street Doctor Equator never tells Dobu that ANOTHER bullet was stolen by Tanaka and therefore Dubu trusts that Equator followed his instructions and that all bullets were accounted for - meaning Dobu would be the ONLY person with ammo in his mind.

I'm not saying that from the perspective of Dobu. Of course he's not doing some convoluted plot to get that bullet through Tanaka or even straight up supplying him. He doesn't know about Tanaka taking it or him even being in Equator's care at all.
I'm talking about the author. What's the point of giving Tanaka a second bullet here if the only one that matters is the one that he already had and is going to shoot Dobu with?

I'm probably forgetting it was the little cop bro that shot a bullet in a previous chapter where Dobu assumed it was skull mask firing and therefore by stealing the bullet in this chapter Tanaka has TWO bullets.
There is a pretty simple explanation from a character standpoint... Why WOULDN'T you want more ammo?
But from a meta writing stand point, I guess it could be seen as unneeded.
