Didn't look like Kakihana got in the way of the stab, just interrupted it by colliding, but then all of a sudden he is wounded? And the knife seems to get dragged out of him, but then isn't bloodstained and is perfectly clean afterwards? Some very careless and confusing detail work there.

I just don't get how they expect us to be fine with Odokawa having a Yakuza thug twin brother and it never being relevant to the story until now.

What? The way they set it up it looks like debt goons were chasing Kaihana and he just happened to run into the park where Odokawa just happened to be at the exact time to allow him to run in and interfere. AND AND the goons are actually the hired bodyguard muscle others hired for Odokawa. What the heck, that is bullshit coincidence to resolve this.

Only other explanation is that Kaihana running away and Odokawa hit aren't actually happening simultaneously.
The job thugs wanted Kaihana for was to protect Odokawa and they have been tailing him for a while after grabbing Kaihana.

Haha, I didn’t expect so many people to be that surprised that the debt collectors turned out to be also bodyguards xD
But honestly, this detail had already been hinted at before — like when Equator mentioned that he runs a debt-collection company, and in the previous chapter he was also the one who found bodyguards for Odokawa. So I thought more people would’ve connected the dots :v

Plus, in terms of the story’s meaning, I guess having the bodyguards guys step in here also helps set the stage for Sato and Rena’s role in the plot. Otherwise, everything they’d been chasing from beginning to end would’ve ended up feeling pointless.

Anyway, I think from the very beginning, Odd Taxi has always been a story about all these miraculous coincidences weaving together into one complete picture, and that theme is still here. And they way they set up Sato's ability with those coincidences only push the theme further.
