Hmm, though I suppose Yano has some pretty interesting mental hang ups - I guess Dobu was trying his best to push Yano forward and keep him motivated to be independent and grow stronger as an asset, also to get over his mental scars/past traumas.
Heck, Dobu likely sent Sekiguchi to Yano to show the importance of fostering underlings and having your own network!
- but Yano took Dobu's "Leave something in my memory even if it's painful" in the worst possible way.
