This manga was outselling some of the big three in the U.S. back in the early 2000s and 2010s.
Imagine what would’ve been if it manga had more mainstream appeal back then. Or if they hadn’t botched the anime so badly.
Anyways, a classic manga in my mind. The only thing you can say is that it comes across as repetitive but I think it manages to shake up many times in significant ways. Chapter 20 is legendary. I also love how the art matures along with the characters and the story. I don’t think it was intentional but it might as well be and it adds a whole different dimension to the manga that I don’t think any other manga manages to replicate.
