It's...fairly simple to follow, the majority of the past few chapters have been focusing on it. There was an alternate universe where Kriemhild plotted her revenge as it went in the myth and Giselher is from this universe. He's been using the power of the ring to jump between them all to make a timeline where none of the original tragedies happen and his sister is alive and happy.

"Spielleiter" is usually used for the GM in Pen&Paper RPG's like Dungeons& Dragons in Germany.
