The author is genuinely putting forth the idea that hope and the will to power through the hard times so that you can enjoy all the good things in life are stronger than despair and the desire for everything to end so that you won't have to hurt or be afraid anymore.

In media landscape overflowing with self-deprecating irony and cynicism, having a wacky, over-the-top sex comedy shounen battle manga tell you that it's okay to have hope and believe that things can be better is a powerful statement. But you have to fully commit to it, and you can only do that by being sincere in your delivery.
