Yeah its tragic that this ends in two chapters. I really like the dynamic which is building up, its something I can't find in other stories.

There's plenty of normal looking festival masks at that stall. Yet, of course, everybody around only focuses on the otaku style masks. Surely, when you have a character with hidden interests you gotta put them on the spot like this. Such natural, much normal.

Dunno how far this got into the LN's story but moving to it is always an option if you want more.

Good enough it's unlikely it got axed. It was likely an LN advertisement manga. At least that's my opinion.

In all of these 19 chapters of this story about a girl and boy living together, the most intense part is about a completely unrelated girl trying to buy a Kamen Rider mask.
