@Sprocket oh no, did he leave it under the house and it fucking drowned? This is actually a very fucking common way cats die when it floods and I've seen it happen a few times throughout my life after hurricanes. Depending how the structure of the house is what will happen is that under the house there'll be like a cinderblock or some slab that's elevated that the cat will use to escape the water but once the water keeps rising and they try to escape either it'll be too late and they won't have enough time to swim from their spot from under the house or panic trying to get out and eventually drown.
Makes perfect fucking sense considering how a lot of these Japanese houses are compared to the west.
