I thought it was a decent enough one-shot, but I'm really seeing a pattern with this author's works. MC is a shy, total loner who constantly self-deprecates, the FMC is overly popular, outgoing, and innocent to social norms that literally everyone else is aware of, and the side character competing for the FMC is an annoying and aggressive popular student. The pacing was a bit off, going from absolutely nothing to a sudden conflict and resolution in the final few chapters, but the message was overall good, and I'd probably rank this as their second best work (out of the three currently translated to English). Their number one is still their other one shot, which somehow covered the intricacies of a society with inhuman inhabitants far better than their other, more infamous work, but this was at least refreshingly normal and somewhat thought out, which was more than enough to surpass a series that ret-conns essential vampire traits because "woops, accidentally had the species that infects people via biting bite the fmc, can't have her turn into a thrall so let's just make them wingless mosquitos, and I wanted a baseball scene with this fuckboy I really prefer to the real main character, so let's just take away his weakness to the sun as well."
