Those guards have it rough-
Imagine working for this family- a child could beat you up and you must take it or die later.
-One family member can give you an order that will directly cause another family member to murder you.
I image the only people who come here for work are throwaways from their family or people that did not know until it was too late to back out.

Dad already mentioned that Roxie's brother only had his looks that were similar to Sierra, Sierra is also Roxie's mother, that means that the brother which died was her full-blood brother and Dion's half-brother consequently because they share a father but not the mother

Yes, she is to blame but we do not know her situation. She probably said that so her kids did not die, you can tell she does not like it but cannot say anything.
Compared to these murderers, kidnappers, and drug inducers, she is good and normal by comparison.

@Solistars I think she’s just a veeeery weak person, and yes, sometimes if you’re too weak you don’t do what you should because you’re too scared. I wonder how she ended in this family. And how she survived until now... from this perspective I think she could have some very selfish side, bc if your child died and you only witnessed the event without doing nothing... you could even try to kill yourself for the guilt... so I suppose she created some delusion to survive... it’d be interesting if the author explains more of her psychology
