I feel bad, could you imagine being stripped of your dream then made to marry someone you don’t even know, followed with being given the responsibility for hundreds of thousands of lives.

All his friends can’t treat him as such now since he has an image to uphold, he’s probably incredibly lonely. Which is partly why I feel for Gerald since that girl he feel for probably treated him as a person and not an idol, still doesn’t make what he did right.

However it doesn't change the fact that Gerald was very irresponsible with his duties even if that was the case, and pretty much abandoned his people and country to pursue his desires. If he really wanted to, he would have tried doing a more proper procedure while being aware of his position and responsibilities.

I love Alvis Papa for looking out for his son and making him feel more comfortable with his role, especially after suddenly being thrusted to a position that completely alters his life.
