Oh! This is what I commented a few chapters ago. Seems like it did come to fruition. I did expect this to happen as long as the author remained realistic.
What doesn’t make sense is that there’s a ton of small business owners who are most likely peasants and aren’t being charged with illegal business operations. I guess they just wanted to seize his profits, maybe even take over his company and connections he’s built through the company. It could also be, “How dare a mere peasant make so much money, let’s exploit this to teach these peasants their place!”
