There's LIDAR to some extent as it lets you map out caves to some degree, but you need some kind of access pointI was thinking the other day if there's a way or a device capable of detecting huge holes or caves underground like with ultra sound or radio waves, like old water deposits, it could also prevent things like sink holes in populated areas.
Somehow it felt more extensive than the anime but I think they covered the same, it was very nice.
If there are some hot springs made from trapped sea water, are they also salty or all the sodium gets filtered over time?
I saw people on JP twitter talking about it. A few of them tried asking for pipe deposits but as far as I could tell, none of them were allowed to have any. As for the rest of the manga, I see quite a few people (again on JPTwt) who go mineral hunting, even at train stations looking for garnet in granite flooring. This chapter read like two mothers bringing their daughters on vacation, LMAO. But seriously, how difficult is it to access all this material in real life? Is it possible to have a similar experience without also pursuing it on a scientific level?
There are souvenir shops in my town that sell various materials for home decoration, but I don't know how suitable they are.I saw people on JP twitter talking about it. 21 should be here by the end of the weekend. Already got it cleaned, just busy tomorrow so it'll be a Sunday job. That'll cover the final episode.Literally JUST finished the anime last night. Impeccable timing to see Ch 20 get uploaded lol.
I've been looking into rockhounding. There's a lot of info out there on forums and youtube and the like. Obviously it depends on your area; where I live basically all the land is private so you have to ask permission before collecting anywhere (which I've done; usually people are chill if you just ask to pick up rocks). Check local laws for public parks and such; there are often designated rockhounding parks in areas with a lot of a certain kind of material. There's also privately-owned pay-dig sites. Certain places/states (e.g. Utah) have crazy cool rocks all over the place on public land you can just go to and pick up. Quite a few YouTubers do that and post the locations. This chapter read like two mothers bringing their daughters on vacation, LMAO. There are plenty of such devices, from ground-penetrating RADAR, to seismic surveys (with acoustic emitters, or with small pulse charges), to nuclear surveys (drill a small hold, drop a radioactive source down it, measure the radiation that passes through the intervening geology), etc. Geological surveying has been ongoing for many decades.I was thinking the other day if there's a way or a device capable of detecting huge holes or caves underground like with ultra sound or radio waves, like old water deposits, it could also prevent things like sink holes in populated areas.
