Okay, I've read chapter 30.

Is this supposed to be a happy ending? Not sure about that. It felt like the farewell from Chika. Or I'm just imagining, cause he still was practically an infant or a bit older. The whole story reminds me of "Hanging Town: Shinomiya Shrine Series". I won't go into details, but I recommend it. On another note was that all just because of some crazed monk? There had to be some other curse seeds across Japan, and we've seen it travel through a monkey. But this is enough for a logical end of the story. The curse remains though
