Interestingly ppls rated low cause they complain about humans being saved cause of Food...
what they don't realize is... there are at least 20-ish manga about Food as main plots and cooks saving the world with Food. (tho most are Fantasy type setting, but I guess this counts too since Demons....)
Tho that "may" be one of the reason why it's rated low... cause the plots already been done before multiple times.
I agree that you can get annoyed due to repeated reused plots.
But I also believe that you should only judge a series by individuality on whether the series is a good read or not.
Cause it's a fact that a lot of series in anime, manga, games and TV shows are all copying each other when they see something is interesting or has good sales.
(IE: Games - BR... Anime/ Manga - Isekai, Shounan... TV shows - fantasy survival... yea... maybe we should vote games like Apax and Fortnite low cause they technically copied the game from PUBG, H1Z1 and ARMA... or how about Game of Throne that took ideas from earlier shows and movie?)

This is a rant about the genre, and not indicative of my feelings on this manga or it’s translators given I have yet to give it a try.
Oh great. What will it be this time? Just another “Japanese cuisine is so amazing” manga? I don’t actually mind this trope, as long as they’re up front about it, like in Tsuki ga Michibiki Isekai Douchuu where they have it as a minor sub plot, if it’s even a plot at all, because the Japanese main character misses food from Japan, and two of his followers became weebs so it clearly states that their interests are Japan based, rather than just good food in general. One manga/novel that began fairly decently was the Death Mage one, where characters were literally going around screaming: MISOOOOOOO and MAYOOOOOOOO and stupid shit like that, as if it was their reason to exist. It’s incredibly digressive to the story most of the time, and I quite frankly hate it. One of the more tolerable mangas of this genre, imo, is the one with the guy that has a fenrir, because although it’s majority Japanese food, it isn’t as if that’s all there is. You have some foreign dishes interspersed even it is only a little. And it’s not like they go into detail with how “amazing” it is. It pretty much stops with “what is this it’s delicious”, which is believable in a medieval fantasy world and doesn’t suck Japan’s sick until the skin is gone.
