Hmmm…is Tei the kind of person who wants to be loyal to “one person” or “one thing” and devote everything to that? She loves Ryuu, but she wouldn’t be happy trying to “balance two lives” (especially since as things are she would HAVE to keep them fully separate and secret). She wants to stop living in-between or on the edge of a decision, and instead fully commit herself to the film life and give herself over to movies?

kind of rough that Ryuu dropped out of highschool for her, but he’s back in the zaibatsu’s graces so it’s not too big of a deal. plus he was only there to get good at kendo.
Kosuzu stocks are looking strong right now, but depending on how long this series goes, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Tei. everyone’s lives are going to be shaken up by the war…

I feel like the women he become involved with are destined to try to grow into stronger and more powerful figures like in some attempt to somehow reach his level (e.g. Kosuzu). I also think this is a subtle way to push him back in her direction given how he is basically his uncle's proxy atm.

Am I alone in thinking that Tei has been getting consistently better writing than Ryuu for like the last 4 volumes?

She admits to him that she was prepared to sleep with Okayama and this idiot still forgives her. She explicitly tells him she chooses her career over him and he still doesn't get it. it's frustrating sometimes what a massive dunce he is.

He was disowned by his father, became a beggar and street performer, was kicked out of Busen before graduating leaving all his comrades behind, almost died in a fucking typhoon etc etc all to be with her. and this is what he gets. yet she isn't prepared to make any sacrifices for him.

Ryuu is a simpleton. a meathead. He is overly trusting of people and assumes everything will always work out fine. there really isn't that much you can do with a character like this tbh. Tei is a woman, that automatically makes her more complex lol.
