While I agree with the points others have raised about the "balanced party" idea that MC had, I feel that we should spend more time discussing how truly upsetting the dragon-with-tiddies design is. Yeah, there's a reason most of these sorts of stories start out with the MC becoming convinced that the friend wanted them gone too. He fucking knows she wouldn't be okay with this, what a dumb fuck. I'd rather him try to search for her but fail for some reason or other than this sort of shit. Finding her to warn her about the murderous psychopaths she's travelling with should be his number one priority.

Like others have said, MC's reason for not going to get/ find his friend straight away is ludicrous and delusional. I could understand him not want to hold his friend back, but not going back to tell her he is alive specifically is stupid. He knows she cares for him, just disappearing would only lead to her feeling distraught.

Then there is the fact that he is leaving her to a party of terrible people who are willing to kill their comrades for personal gain. Even if the MC does not feel fit to be in her party, there's no way his inferiority complex is so bad that he feels this party of horrible people would be better than literally any other A-rankers.

And then lastly, MC now has a dragon a companion and just punched an S-Rank Boss to death. His capabilities are so much better than they were before. He can regrow limbs with basic healing spells. He is now definitely worthy of being in her party. Even if the other terrible party members start cause trouble what can they actually do? MC should just report them to the guild for trying murder him and then leave with his dragon girl and child friend for a different town.
