I'll throw another vote in for "it's a lot better than the description makes it sound." MC isn't weak, just (at the beginning) outclassed by the people around him. He does get given a boost in power, but it comes with negative effects he has to overcome and he works hard to learn to use it. The dragon isn't there because she has that weird inexplicable crush on the MC that you see so often in other manga, but because his goals align with hers. The fanservice (so far just the dragon who doesn't understand clothing and an eccentric healer) doesn't get in the way of the story. The MC doesn't have girls fawning over him for no reason, which is honestly a nice change.

Sure, the "my party betrayed me so I'm going out on my own" trope is overused, but out of all those stories this one's probably my favorite so far.

One downside is that the villains aren't well written, at least so far (chapter 29). The explanation given for them wanting to kill the MC is pretty flimsy. I suspect the "you're inconvenient so we'll just kill you now" behavior is some kind of social commentary that westerners don't have the cultural background to get. That said, there have been a couple hints that there's more going on with them than it appears at first.

I think the answer to the "why doesn't he tell Yuki her party is full of murderous bastards" question is also a Japanese cultural thing that doesn't translate well. You see it in a lot of other manga too.

Great... I kind of stalled at ch16, scrolled through ch17 quickly and wasn't feeling like reading the rest, since I stalled a couple of days ago and then got curious, so I scrolled through the last few chapters. They are still in the same freaking place 12-14 chapters later?!?!
I mean, I get that sometimes you get a 'slow burn' story but...
Anyway, then I looked up the raws and those go up to ch45!!
I honestly didn't think there'd be that many chapters, first, because the LN seems to only have 2 volumes and then second, because apparently, the translation is WAAAAAY behind!!
Oh well. This wasn't all that good (in my opinion) to begin with, so I'll leave it on hold for now (for the coming years I guess) and maybe come back if and when it finishes, but... I am not getting my hopes up for a lot of enjoyment for the rest of this meh story.
As others have said, it's mostly the decent art that is keeping this up.

Love the dragon girl but MC is just a damsel on distress, his virgin boy reaction whenever saw female body parts is cute I guess.

In some chapters MC does looks cool but only when he's under pressure between life&death situations, mostly he's a braindead.

I quite liked this manga and the relationship between dion and eldora but I really dont like that yuki is joining up with them I wanted to see dion grow past his past and while yuki is an okay character it feels like she'll just become like a prop to pull away from the growth of dion and eldora as individuals and their relationship with each other i really really dont have the patience for a cool story to be interrupted by a useless love triangle
