Actually, they also use 殿 (-dono) in the story and I had already decided to translate that as "Lady" so I was trying to think of the options I had left to show the relative levels of formality. But then again, Japanese can be inherently too formal as people also normally use -sama in emails where Ms./Mr. would suffice in English. Wonder if I should just keep the Japanese honorifics as is.

I agree there are a little too many levels of formality in Japanese, making it a nightmare to try and translate without losing the nuance behind it.
