I'm a bit confused at him acting as if they're returning customers, doesn't dispelling a curse typically mean dispelling the curse on the item, not the effect of the curse on the person? Because as soon as Gaile's party gets off this ship, they're gonna have to dispel the ship's curse to do so, and then the ship's hosed.

The entire theme of this mc is all about turning bad points to goods points, somehow. Like the stat drain curse gale placed on himself at the start, or how he turned tentacles of demon lord heart into massager, or that creeping choker.

In a sense, it shows that what we thought as bad things (curse) is not actually intrinsically bad, only the effect of them that is bad. So if you can handle their effect somehow, you can live with them.

If you can live with those creeping looks, too.

In an earlier chapter, we see a priest say that Gaile's items have a bunch of layered enchantments that make them so strong, and I imagine removing the "curse" aspect of it would ruin that balance. I think the explanation is that he ties all the massive buffs to a relatively weaker debuff? So for him, the cursed part is the price you pay for how overpowered it is
