A setup, huh? I hope it won't end in some bullshit.
Nah, the noble placed the cursed child hoping her curse would kill/disable Nigris. Jeanne decided her visit last chapter while he wasn't present so I think it is unrelated to his plan. In the end Nigris will heal the girl, Jeanne will see it and switch sides.
Not reading the novel (I just assume one exists), so no spoiler, just my prediction.

Why is it the poor district now instead of ghetto or slums?

Probably comments about the translation somewhere.

It's a matter of taste/naming conventions, I guess? Both "ghetto" and "slum" have associations that don't quite fit what's depicted in the manga, so they went for the more generic and fantasy-ish "poor district".

Ehhh how can her memory be gone when he fully healed her? Stamina and the like also makes no sense she should wake up immediately. Some contrived writing to have it outcome like all this. It goes against world/character rules so yes I'll proclaim bad writing here.

Also as far as chapters go alot happens but also not really, girl who shouldn't have been left even near clearly evil character the sister knows is evil gets I dunno something'd and somehow he gets her out to the forrest with noone seeing how this happened or what he did (remember he's hiding how evil he is). Dragon finds him and brings him to MC (MC claims this was the plan to have MC killed but why would he leave her body in the forrest? He couldn't know the dragon would take her body to the MC. I assume he meant to leave her there to die but then why not off her and just leave her unconcious.).

Personally, I think the opposite. Poor district makes less sense since they aren't all poor. They're isolated from the other districts for some other reason so ghetto is actually appropriate naming because of those associations.

Nah... Ghetto is nowadays Cultural Appropriation of Jewish History.
Got to keep up with the sensitivities of the Newspeak-du-Jour...

its appropriation is in reference TO that, so it makes sense either way.
