Greetings.

MangaDex has received an inactivation request by one of our user's for this group. As per Mangadex's published rule 2.4 any group that becomes inactive will be marked as such. Group delays and upload restrictions will be removed in 14 days time.

This rule is in place to ensure that groups who cease to be won't be forgotten about and their releases lost to the passage of time due to restrictions from when they were active.

After 14 days we will toggle the group to inactive setting and all restrictions will be lifted.

S2Scans has officially asked MangaDex for a 2 month extension to the inactivation request as per rule 2.4.1.1 as they plan to release more soon but their staff have been busy with school. Thus the inactivation has been removed and the group re-locked.

Hey, I was wondering how this applies towards other groups uploading manga of a series they're technically still doing even though they haven't uploaded a chapter of it for a year.

I've gathered a team to upload one of ¨their¨ series but is that against their rules in some way?
Rather, what's the time limit for another group to pick up a series one group hasn't touched in a long time?

@vwea if you mean taking a series that looks abandoned and do it yourself, you can technically do it whenever you want, but in the scanlation world there's usually a tacit consensus that you should wait t least 4-6 months from the last release the other group did before taking over the mantle.

As for MangaDex, they don't policy that. It's fine to do your own version of whatever series you want.
