Dang, why did Mask-san have to die? I like a good bad ending as much as anyone else, but this one just feels unnecessary.

Absolutely garbage ending that was so incredibly forced and unrealistic. Author really tanked the manga just to force this.

What an objectively stupid ending. First off holsters are always strapped down so random people don’t grab the gun (like what happened), second of the gun wouldn’t have been cocked (it’s a revolver) giving at least a second for the police officer to tackle her, third off the moment somebody even tried to go for an officers gun they would be tackled to the ground, fourth off when someone is arrested for a serious crime they would be handcuffed with their arms behind their back and as they get escorted to the police car two police men would have holding each of her arms.

If you wanted mc to die at least let it happen realistically.
EXACTLY Like if she kills him inside the house when it's just them 3 cool dude but after she is handcuffed with 2 police man with the charge of attempted murder towards her own daughter like for me it killed the whole manga tbh, he couldve gone to jail for some time or again just kill him in a different way but it was the dumbest way to do it just for shock. Honestly ruined it for me

Imo the manga had its up and downs but it was closing well I was happy with it, even I thought he couldve died inside the house saving her (still unnecessary I think) but after she is arrested? Nah ruined it.

Good read but i still agree that killing off Haru was just for the worse/bittersweet ending sake, his whole arc is realizing Sachi is also important to him as much as his dad, not living aimlessly but to protect the ones he love. Both main characters have moved on (Mask decided to show his face and Sachi refuses to become a coward again), why bother dragging a whole drama mother to end their happiness.
anyway i am glad i read this, what a ride

I always viewed their relationship as non romantic, but yeah agreed I wanted them to be family again.... I suppose at least he got to see his dad again and sachi got to be raised by actually good people for the first time in her entire life. ;;
We must of been reading two different stories then. Because its absolutely meant to be romantic, just because he helped her get through the pain, doesn't mean It's platonic. They could've been married and had kids if he hadn't died. You to be wife is basically family.

I think the author was planning for Haru to die at the end, but most likely they missed to integrate it smoothly as story was already advancing. I've seen some opportunity like sickness or accidents in some chapters, but again.. maybe author just forgor
