He actually has a point. I know I am tired of reading endless farfetched gloomy idiocies that keep the main couple from being together in romances only to have them enjoy a few seconds of happy ending before the story ends.
Get the couple together already in a natural way and follow their everyday lives as a happy couple afterward. Just doing stuff together and talking deepens your relationship plenty. Harem stories and the heroine having some melancholy secret she has to be saved from are boring as fuck.
