MC realised that the original character fucked up big time and decided to let her go her own way, that's why he stopped caring about her since his relationship with her is already beyong repair, there's no point in seeking romance with her anymore.

That was certainly a different view than I was expecting. However, it's also an interesting way to allow multiple PoVs (especially around a minor mob character)...
Though, I guess the game's MC merely simplified their past to him harassing her before the entrance ceremony which is why protag wouldn't know about the mob's past.

Still, isn't that basically a slave contract?!? I'm glad mob-kin was decent to not use it, but why does that even in play here???

Maybe there's no harassment in the first place. Maybe it's just her negative thought that he will go through that route and falsely accused him to get away from him and break the marriage contract.
