If only people like the author were given the rights for Tolkien work.
is it the end ? or do we get the arc about the northern continent wanderings ?
There is still the evil they imprison. The dragon allied itself to the equivalent of the demon king.

and aside from that there is an another equivalent evil they have to face ........politics.

Stay alive until 2050 or so and the Hobbit and LOTR will all be in the public domain, assuming manga as a medium still exists then

and fwiw a Japanese anime director is getting a shot at Tolkien but honestly I have no expectations for it

Thanks for translating!

.... Wait, it was an isekai? I totally forgot about it 😲

It can be a good ending to end at this arc.
Yet I hope we'll get more of Will's development on how to handle his DWAGOONIG POWA, like how to not break his spoons when eating soup.

The LN volume after is mainly the aftermath of the arc and hasn’t had any updates for years on any new arcs afaik.
I was so disappointed to learn this recently. They even just released the LN in French :meguuusad:.

I highly recommend people check out the fight with the dragon in the book, it's absolute cinema. It's like if Tolkien was action focused instead of over-describing things.

Patience. It'll be in the public domain in ~20 years...

When it enters public domain depends on the local laws. All the novels and related writings are already public domain in New Zealand, but in some places it might not be until 2092 that everything enters the public domain.

In the USA, the series will be enter the public domain between 2031 (The Hobbit, 1st edition) and 2050 (Return of the King), but those using it may run into issues with the rights to some of the notes persisting until 2072. In other places, the rights don't expire until up to 70 years after the author's death, creating the 2092 figure for the entire series even if the works by JRR will be entering in 2043~2044.
