Alterise is really mangling things up with Krulcifer like saying her body belongs to the family and is not her own like she's an object. That and looking only at Balserid's lineage and ability with a dragride while completely overlooking his personality. Guy obviously thinks too highly of himself, looks down on others, and always puts himself first. If he had a decent character he'd ask Krulcifer to allow him to date and get to know her to compete more evenly with Lux along with settling her issue of not knowing each other. Even Lux was able to tell guy just sees her as a trophy wife and looking forward to making her submit to him while Alterise is only trying to push forth the marriage and only chastising Krulcifer while completely ignoring his bad manners. Seems like Balserid got all his bad traits from his father. Wouldn't be surprised if father was planning on staging a coup after cementing his grip on the army as he'd have a giant army under his command and hardly any other forces in the kingdom to defend with.
In LN the merchant offered Balserid a potion that would turn Krulcifer into a mindless doll, but Balserid refused as it'd be more satisfying and fun to break her and make her submit to him with his own efforts while destroying her resistance.
Btw, an X-class is the highest class of general class dragrides. So Lux's wyvern and the trio's dragrides (prior to modification,) could be considered the mass produced average class dragrides made in the thousands. An X-Class would be the specially made high grade general class dragride made in the hundreds for the elites and second only to Divine Dragrides in terms of performance, power, armor and performance. Divine Dragrides are the unique superweapons for the upper class with no expense spared for superior material and only one made with a a specific special ability. So Fafnir is the only dragride in existence with precognition and Bahamut is the only dragride with "Reload and Fire." Other Divine Dragrides may have similar appearances and weapons, but no two will have the same special ability. Downside is the higher grade the dragride the harder and more taxing it is to pilot. So while Lux might be able to fight with his general class wyvern for hours he can't pilot Bahamut for even half an hour before burning out.
