The hell? Are you overestimating people who do heavy labour. Know I will admit I am not experienced in such, but I still know that strength is not everything in combat. You need skill and mastery over the technique which he clearly does not have. He was smart enough to realise he is outclassed instead of pulling out bs determination to try to win.

"Win"? It was training; that's not about "winning". Yes, he clearly doesn't have the skill and mastery. That's why he needed training.

But the main reason I called him weak is his lack of mental fortitude. He couldn't accept that she was so much better than him at something he'd never trained and she's an expert in. Just moments after he's shown to be completely unaffected by it, as soon as the author wants to do something else.

I'm not going to claim I'm some authority on it, but I do have experience both with heavy labour and exhausting sports, just not combat sports (but certainly things that will leave bruises).

I think he is already toasted when they brought him there. She likes him, so she gets him. No other choice for him but to be her boy toy until she gets tired of him.

He is, however, very stupid. The father flat out offered 50k, yet he took the 20k. I understand not wanting to demand too much when he is flat broke and about to be homeless, but the other party gave the offer. It was given, but he refused it. It's like a homeless person in the street was given $100, but he then tells the giver that he just wants $20. It's stupid. Especially for someone who has already been "working".

That's like the main issue in the entire story. Unyielding Effort vs Monstruos Talent... But still doesn't take away that the fandom hates Sorata.
