So Mirei wants to be Hinako's friend? This is moving in the direction I'd like to see, although it's not quite there yet with Hinako still having to fake it in front of her new "friends". That and on paper, Mirei has some sort of nearly-rival status to Hinako based on how she described their families.

As much as I hate to say it, seems likely that fat old rich guy might present himself as a future suitor of hers. Because that's just how these things work in stories like these (and sometimes in real life too).

I still wonder about Itsuki's other childhood friend Yuri who he left behind in the outside world of commoners. That's a plot point waiting to be revisited. Continuing the Hayate no Gotoku parallels, she'd be the Ayumu Nishizawa of this manga.
