@Varler There's higher risk of getting caught when u have a hostage and it's a noble, and is generally seen as more effort as u need to get the ransom and run away. Killing them does leave eye witnesses but generally a better option (Area is the slums so people might turn a blind eye) if u dont want too many problems. At least this is my logic to their reasoning.

@dokidoki The problem is you're also in a girls body and growing up as a girl so your mentality is going to change, its a body with female levels of hormones with the memories of a guy. So it's not unreasonable for him to gradually like guys more because of how his reborn body is. Also the fact people treat him as a girl also changes how he acts and goes about his daily life. No one should stay exactly same when they're in the opposite genders body.

We didn't see much of Albright's history but it seemed he was more focused on duty than romance. We have no idea what his sexuality was. It could be he was simply indifferent, and that romance will be a novelty to 'her'.

The bandits don't need to keep their prisoner alive. Just have the noble go missing, ask for ransom, send over an identifying possession (or a body part) when asked for confirmation that they have the child, and then just send the child back (or pieces of him) when they get the ransom money.

A commoner kidnapped for the slavers/human traffickers would have a better chance of being kept alive

Only if you are capable of supporting the noble. The only value they have is that they have legitimacy to the claim of a throne. You have to get other nobles on your side while you try to usurp the reigning king. Even then, kidnapping isn't the way you would approach it.

This is not something that a mere bandit could dream of doing.

For the bandit, a higher value prisoner simply means that they can ask for a higher ransom. It doesn't change the situation in which the prisoner has to be kept alive.
