The art is the only thing I'd give a passing grade to. Translation team did good too. The english isn't painful to read it's just the story.

Though there is some narrative bumps and the usual cliche, the story is unique with the fact that the author understands how readers will think.

There are some occasions where the reader follows the op isekai cliche or meriting not from his ability but from a higher power multiple times. But, mc understands his lack of merit to his achievements, and the author shows that the other central characters understand mc benefits not from his ability but from others too

one recent example is the god of gods agrees to stop his support for mc after the defeat of the silver wolf bc mc needs to adapt himself

Some readers, like I initially, do not like the fact he is so weak and needs to depend on others; however,
he strives gets stronger and understands his fragility. He was originally from Earth; the unique point in the beginning of the series is the fact that he does not gain any stat enhancements; his ability is that of a regular Japanese high schooler.
There is need to accept this fact: he is a normie (lol); he is pretty much introduced as the generic harem slice-of-life weak dutz.
But, he does take initiatives (like complementing people and sympathizing with criticism).

Enjoy-ability: 8/10; Characters: 6.5/10;
Recommend: 9/10
Hope this series does not get dropped; but recent chapter is also a good resting point.

As of the last chapter, I'm wondering—this occasionally nudges a little towards going in creepier directions without ever really going there, but with the "oh no the slave trader from before, who had some of the characters in little cages previously, is totally a nice dude" in this last chapter, I can't help but worry a bit where this might end up going just on the power of it's own bad writing.

To be clear, this series has its merits (within the context of isekai, anyway). It plays with the "isekai guy gets OP powers" idea a bit, at least toying with the idea that the god(s) helping him really are "cheating" and there might be trouble down the line caused by it. The characters are generally genial, which is nice, and the author is okay (not great, but okay) at cheesy feel-good moments.

I just have my doubts that the author isn't quite thinking about some of this other stuff enough.

Really wish a different translation team would pick this up. The story is so light hearted and never takes itself seriously that it makes it a breath of fresh air over other isekai that try to be edgy or mature or dense in lore and information.
