@JavelinJoe That's true and a fair point. Though I'd offer a pair of counterpoints; first would be that clothes were made more rugged, since people were more active in wilder areas (though magic and the simple inclusion of a minor mending spell would render this one moot), while second would be that living things, as a rule, are fairly suspicious of outsiders, so getting local clothing in order to blend in would probably be worth it on its own (though, in this instance, since they've only just now really begun interacting with society at large, this one hasn't been an issue).
