It'll be quite hilarious if her "rampage" is with respect to her devotion to being the "hero" for people and/or her love for the mage. If she rampages within either of those it could end up being quite benign, and, assuming that it's caused by a third party, quite annoying for whatever their plan is.

i.e. if her eventual "rampage" is just her being "more of a hero" or "more in love" and it annoys this "background" baddie enough to appear...
