Why does it feel like this is morphing into an entirely different story, I was really excited for this as first, but now I'm just confused like I missed several chapters.
Dropping, story is taking a turn from what it was originally. The old lady arc really killed my interest
? Did you not read the author note at the start? (Or was it in the one shot?)
Anyway the story is just gonna be author throwing in all their weird fetishes and an overarching plot to connect things

Hmm interesting. So summing up the info, the 5 yr ol hero's body being that old is abnormal (even with being a homunculus), something is wrong about the priest's body and mage is trying to fix the hero. And toifa thinks them casually manipulating time is abnormal, better yet she errored out when asked her age and hometown.

So this is just my guess but :
Priest at some point had his time/age paused/stopped making him look like that.
Toifa either had her memories tampered with or isn't a real person like the hero(hence she doesn't know the details of her age and hometown)
Or they've already been thru tons of time shenanigans that it should've been normal

Medical Diagnosis:

Author seems to be suffering from a severe case of serialitis.

An inflamation of a story caused by it's author losing focus of what got it serialized in the first place.

If left untreated, serialitis has been documented to be fatal to a story.
The only cure when advanced enough.
Removal of infected tissue with a specialised instrument.

I don't think it's because she's a homunculus. They set up awhile ago, don't remember chapter but maybe just after seeing demon lord, that there was something weird happening to every "hero" (and this world seems to have buckets full of them).

I think westerns are too quick to claim something is getting ax'ed the min a story goes in a direction they don't like, esp for a webcomics like this published online vs rather than in a magazine which has a much greater space limit then an online site does. This story is very popular in it's app so it's Def not a risk of being canceled anytime soon, it's story beats are the author's choices for better or worse.

I will say, as much as I appreciate the translators for bringing this series over, they switched to a Literal Translation style on this series a while back and that causes at least half of the confusion that ppl have on this series. Direct translation of Japanese is chunky and hard to read for English readers. Add in the vagueness the author puts to create a mystery and you end up with confusion over here.

BUT I'd rather be slightly confused than miss out on this Wacky adventure and as a person a few chapters in the future, the gag/ lighthearted story will be back shortly. This author just likes to take a dip into drama every now and then before returning to comedy

This sudden serious turn makes me think the manga is closing on a axe or the author was told to make it more interesting after comedy and fan service didn't make it more popular...
I'm guessing the hero party was seriously damaged/crippled/someone died and mask demon used his power to make them return to before it, that messed up with their memories.
But the dialogue is too cryptic, is not really clear why Toifa memories were messed up by it aside that on a living organism it likely creates brain damage.
I'm guessing that the thing about the priest not having it was that he is immortal for some time magic/curse and can't be affected by it, nor take away nor changed by giving it.
To be is still lost, the mask demon lives by taking time in some ways, and can fix things by expulsing it from his body, the closest thing to it for a normal being is throwing up.
Toifa was the only one who got transformed back when she became a giant. That was the Flyman's magic that turned her time back. He mistakenly messed up her memories by doing that. (Not an inanimate object) That's why she couldn't remember our Hero's age and some other past events.

Guys the manga is doing well. There's just been 2nd reprint of the 1st volume not to mention the next chapter is the anniversary chapter of the manga release.

I think this manga went a little wonky after the reveal that the Shayu is actually only 5. If she were the daughter of the Demon King with no other context of being a 5 year old, then I think it'd be fine. But this story is also weaving in some other plot points that are kind of presented really cryptically but doesn't super flow from one page to the next.

I know the Toifa plot point was set up a few chapters ago, but it went by so fast and out of nowhere that I couldn't automatically connect it to this chapter.

And when we all thought Tofia is the normal out of them all, here is one big reveal. If I guess properly some of them died on the first encounter fighting the Demon King, and Beelz just restored time to resurrect them, Itsuka is probably one of the survivors knowing his the one who sealed the Demon King's arms.

Hmmmm, my guess is that Toifa is actually a hero too, and got fucked up at some point, then got rescued by the current party. Hence she has to be "restored"

something is wrong about the priest's body

I think Priest is partially deaf, which can't be time-reversed. So likely from a young age. And what lovely fantasy hearing aids! That could relate to having issues hearing a temporally out-of-joint beelz when their faces aren't close. Great representation if so.

His petite body seems amenable and comfortable to him, however it's locked in or not he/they (ideal translation unclear) passes as a petite adult. It could be natural, could be a magical equivalent of anti-androgen HRT. Femme androgyny wouldn't be priest's style if he wanted pronounced male secondary sex characteristics in the first place.

I'm glad the fly isn't outright villainous, and even less dubious than most of the antagonists thus far. That's interesting even if it was hard to decypher the translation and dialogue placement this chapter.

For me at least, it felt like the manga has had an underlying message that kinks are fine as long as there is consent, and then this arc is just “haha, isn’t rape so funny” which feels so off.
Throw that old lady in prison!! Along with the elf!! Thanks for the chapters!!!
It's an infuriating turn really. Consensual non-consent and the crazy old lady, fine, presenting the dungeon fetish has to be ethically shakier than all the previous ones. It could've been far more consistent, but fine, it hit hard. The old lady is still a sex offender if not a rapist, curse or no curse, and not held accountable.

Neesan may be drugged with unclear consent herself, but people let her drag off a guy, what the flying fuck. That is even further out and greater departures from earlier chapters; violating consent and a sexist joke. Her issues are in-character but it's never been tolerated like this.

It's not like I'll drop the manga that has so much else going for it, but I really hated some of this arc.
