Totally different genre of dungeon stories so it's not a fair comparison. That one is actually a political drama story and not a dungeon diving-focus story so if you expect good dungeon portrayals, you would be disappointed.
Its not the dungeons elements that are the problem(well, mostly), its the MC; he is technically an adult in terms of years lived, but some of his decisions(or non-decisions) are just not good, he is like a kid compared to Igami in terms of awareness and confidence, and leads the others more competently.

Again, this serious only has 10 eng chapters while the other one I stopped at ~30, and I liked it at first until MC started getting wrapped up into people and powers that are using him(makes sense narratively, I just don't like it), so this story could still go in similar direction, but I doubt it, given Igami's personality and intelligence.

He IS a kid in terms of societal interaction considering he mainly grinded dungeons in the 10 years he was in another world. He mostly spent time with the princess and his golem AI, and interactions with outsiders mainly consists of nobles that are corrupt and wanted to use him. When he shared stories about his other world interactions, it was usually about how to bribe them. He mentioned that without his golem proto he might have collapsed showing a very strong emotional reliance on an artificial being and lack of opportunities for maturity. Not to mentioned he was de-aged when he returned and the first thing he encountered was the death of his parents.

In terms of competence in leading others, he teaches people about dungeon navigation, monsters biology and behaviour, as well as class skills. I said it wasn't a fair comparison because the genre is very different so you would not have in-depth focus on technique and tricks like this manga. Instead it focused on exactly what you said, people and powers trying to use him because it is a political drama story. Almost all the major enemies in the story are politicians.

I don't think of it as that, since the majority of the manga is basically in the dungeon and dungeon school, if this is a political drama story, then Solo Leveling is a political drama story. The MC deals with people like the president of US and school principal as proxy; it is not the main element of his motivations to deal with these people, so I can see it as, at worst, a dungeon-diving story with political elements. Even if its as a political drama story, that aspect is poorly done, he is largely led by other people and(for now) afraid to do anything that stands out.

Only good thing that's somewhat enjoyable is his relationship with the 3 girls (Honfa/Ayano/Isa) and Erika, and how he is builds up those relationships(or tearing them down in osananajimi case), so at best, it is a growing-up story as he learns how to deal with various kinds of people around him. Unfortunately, right now(~ch28) he feels out of his depth. Story moving too fast before he grows, and that's why he sucks since he becomes a tool. Maybe he always was a tool; the princess, the trio(H/A/I), Erika and the US team, he constantly getting used, its really frustrating to watch.

Are you judging it based on what you have read so far or do you have knowledge of the novel? If it's the first then you will be disappointed then because it's totally not what you think it is. Also, this is starting to go way off topic since we are in the discussion thread of a different manga.

Fair enough; this isn't the place to continue discussion on that manga.

I'm no novel reader, I'm going by mostly the first couple of manga volumes. If you are the latter(a novel reader), then it makes sense that you would know in what direction the story will go. In all honesty, I stopped around the chapter he was training the US agents; the MC's unsociable nature was getting consistently annoying to me, and the direction the story was going no longer interested me, so you could say I was already disappointed, and just gave up on it. Its good to know that it will continue to go in a direction I won't care for, since I had simply put it on hold, but now, I can just drop it completely.
